Leicester Comedy Festival comes to Market Harborough!
What’s the Leicester Comedy Festival? Well, pretty much what it says! It’s one of the largest comedy festivals in Europe and is held every February in Leicester and Leicestershire. It began in 1994 as a student project and has grown into an eagerly awaited annual cultural highlight. More recently, it’s been appearing in Market Harborough as The Big Weekend.
The Big Weekend programme has gone from strength to strength and we’re delighted that, as part of the 2026 Big Weekend in association with the Leicester Comedy Festival, on Friday 13th February, chums of ours are hosting three outstanding comedians and a cracking compere at the Octagonal Theatre, Welland Park Academy.
Here’s what’s being said about the comedians:
Adam Beardsmore “One of our favourite new acts of the festival” – Leicester Comedy Festival
Joey Page “A stylish comedian with a sonic imagination and a twinkle in his eye” – Noel Fielding
Jack Campbell “Funny and refreshingly inventive” – House of Stand Up
Louise Leigh, Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year Finalist 2022 “Like the kind of Radio 2 DJ who’d be caught in the gossip columns… Brilliant” – The Wee Review.
What’s more, Duncan Murray Wines is running the bar! Yes, Mr Fizz himself will be serving drinks and cracking his usual high quality jokes. There’ll be a selection of wines, beers, ciders and soft drinks throughout the evening. Please note payments for the bar will be card only.
